Video to 4K, FLUX Chooses to Redraw Every Frame
FLUX Upscale is officially live, upscaling videos from 480p to native 4K with two modes: Precise and Creative. Optimized for FLUX 3 generated content, it fixes blurry faces and grid artifacts, making it ideal for broadcast and advertising delivery.
Black Forest Labs today released FLUX Upscale, a tool specifically designed to upscale videos to 2K/4K.
Generating HD video isn't enough — delivery to broadcast, advertising, and large screens requires more pixels. Local upscalers and general-purpose upscaling models often struggle at these resolutions. High-quality upscalers work well, but batch processing video with them is frustratingly slow.

What FLUX Upscale does is regenerate videos from 480p and above up to 4K. It natively understands FLUX 3 output and can fix issues that general upscalers tend to miss, such as blurry faces and grid artifacts on water and grass.

Two modes are available.
**Precise**: 4 steps, $0.07/mp/s. Faster and cheaper, suitable for scenarios that require maintaining character identity and reference detail consistency.
**Creative**: 8 steps, $0.10/mp/s. More steps, stronger restoration and detail generation. The trade-off is that it may change character identity, and reference consistency isn't as strong as Precise.
`upscale_factor` supports 1.5x, 2x, and 3x. Starting from an HD input, these roughly correspond to 1080p, 2K, and 4K.
FLUX Upscale is now available via the BFL API and playground.
