AI Isn't Called AI Anymore? Musk Announces SpaceXAI Renamed to SpaceXSI
The Trump administration has replaced "Artificial Intelligence" with "Super Intelligence," and Musk is the first to respond — SpaceXAI will be renamed SpaceXSI. Brands, policies, and chips: the chain reaction is just beginning.
Right after the U.S. government changed "Artificial Intelligence" to "Super Intelligence," Musk announced he would follow suit with a rename.
Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk recently stated that his AI business brand, SpaceXAI, intends to change its name to SpaceXSI, publicly declaring, "SpaceX is a super intelligence company."

The source of this renaming wave is the Trump administration. On September 22, Trump announced replacing the term "Artificial Intelligence" (AI) with "Super Intelligence" (SI), and urged federal agencies to adopt the new phrasing in documents and institutions. The U.S. government has already begun building a policy framework and industry communication mechanism around SI.
A user on social media asked Musk, "Will SpaceXAI be renamed SpaceXSI?" He replied, "Yes, we will make the change." He then added that SpaceX is essentially a "super intelligence company."
If the rename goes through, it will be the second time this business unit has changed its brand identity in a short period. Musk's xAI was acquired by SpaceX in February, completed a brand restructuring in July, and was renamed SpaceXAI, with Grok and other AI products unified under the SpaceX system. Now that the "Super Intelligence" concept has been pushed to the forefront, the brand has to change its name again.
Trump, meanwhile, is setting the stage. He recently announced the launch of the "Super Intelligence Force" (SIF) initiative. Based on currently disclosed information, SIF will take on coordinating responsibilities between the federal government and the tech industry, becoming a key implementation platform for America's "Super Intelligence" policy.
Beyond the rename, Musk also revealed a more noteworthy development: SpaceX and Tesla are in discussions with TSMC about collaborating on the Terafab project.
Terafab is a mega semiconductor manufacturing initiative pushed by SpaceX and Tesla, aiming to provide at least 1 terawatt-level AI computing power per year, serving scenarios such as Optimus humanoid robots, autonomous vehicles, and space data centers. Phase one of the project is being built in Grimes County, Texas, with an initial investment of approximately $16.8 billion, and the total investment could eventually exceed $100 billion.
In April of this year, Intel officially joined Terafab, planning to provide 14A advanced process and advanced packaging technology. If TSMC also joins, Terafab will have the support of both of the world's two leading advanced chip manufacturers.
Musk said the contact with TSMC is still in the discussion stage, and there "might be some results in the future."
From "Artificial Intelligence" to "Super Intelligence," the shift in wording has already affected brand strategy, policy architecture, and industry collaboration directions in the U.S. tech sector. With the Trump administration pushing steadily and Musks responding publicly, "Super Intelligence" is likely to become the next keyword for the U.S. AI industry.
