Room Service 3.2.0: Conversation History Is Not Cached
Room Service 3.2.0 adds Claude Code conversations to the reviewable list for AI Apps, allowing full rollback after deletion; Rust toolchains and Node versions are now displayed in separate categories; the group penetration issue has been fixed in the clean command. Review before deletion.
The common approach of cleaning tools is: find junk, delete junk. They cannot tell the difference between build caches and project data, nor between conversation history and temporary files. Room Service 3.2.0 takes the opposite approach. This macOS app targeted at developers lists Claude Code conversations, Rust toolchains, and Node.js versions separately instead of mixing them with ordinary caches.
**Claude Code Conversions: Visible, Deletable, Revertible**
Claude Code stores every conversation, along with `/rewind` checkpoints, locally on your Mac. These conversations record the full context of a debugging session, and most common cleaning tools easily mistake them for cache directories. Room Service's AI Apps category now lists these conversations, with each entry named by project and date. After deletion, `claude --resume` will no longer be able to find the conversation, so every entry is marked as "Review".
When you confirm deletion, the entire conversation folder and all checkpoints are moved to Trash, and the whole group can be restored with Undo. Conversions used in the last hour will not appear in the list. Memory, settings, CLAUDE.md, skills, and plugins are excluded from scanning and will never be touched.
**Runtimes: Listed, No Pre-checked Selection**
Runtimes is a new category added in 3.2.0. Installed rustup toolchains and nvm Node.js versions are each listed as separate entries. Default versions, versions pinned by projects, versions activated in shell or currently running are marked as "In Use" and cannot be selected. This category has no pre-selected items. `roomservice clean` will never delete runtime versions; you can only delete them manually in the app, and each entry indicates what is using that version.
**Group penetration issue fixed for the clean command**
Previously, `roomservice clean --safe`, `--all`, and `--category` had a bug: entries inside groups like System Caches and Package Manager Caches would be skipped, but the command would still report that it completed successfully. 3.2.0 fixes this bug, and the cleaning logic now correctly traverses into group contents.
`--all` will never touch personal content. Directories like Large Files, Downloads, and Screenshots will only be cleaned if you explicitly specify the category (e.g. `--category large_files`). The preview will show the exact number of items that will be deleted.
**Other Changes**
- The 1.6GB ChatGPT & Codex runtime is now grouped independently and marked for Review; it will need to be re-downloaded after deletion.
- `clean --dry-run --exit-code` is script-friendly: returns exit code 2 if there are items to clean, 0 if there are none. No output parsing required.
- Added shell completions for zsh, bash, and fish.
- Added VoiceOver labels for icon buttons.
- All analytics signals stop completely after disabling Anonymous Analytics.
Room Service's core rule remains unchanged: review first, nothing is deleted without your confirmation. This update brings this rule to conversations and runtimes. Knowing what not to delete is more important than deleting more junk.
